The Resume Myth #Radchat #Tchat #Dthr #TNL

So recently my friend Lexi Kubrak posted a link to an article about creative resumes that apparently got the applicants jobs at Google, Microsoft and other top tier organizations. I want to first of all share the examples with you all and then ask you to weight in on the conversations about the myths of the resume:

So here are my questions.
- Undoubtedly these are very creative formats for your resume and are likely to get a recruiters attention, but are they are good measure of skills? Other than the creative aspects of the resume?
- If the Social Profiles are more and more the online repositories of the personal and professional information that you put out there are resumes still a valid form of assessment in the job process?
- How and/or would an ATS be agile enough to read and index these formats?
- With the profusion of online Visual resume apps coming to the market such as Visualize.me and DoYouBuzz does that mean that the resume is transitioning from a skills/knowledge assessment tool to more of a marketing tool?
- And with the advent of Social Media and the transition of the traditional recruiter role to a stronger focus on consumer marketing are we forcing the candidates into a more marketing role as well, and if so, where exactly does the assessment come in?
I’m just curious about your answers….let me know what you think in the comments below.
